Group Coaching Programs

Programs focus on a greater reliance on faith in Jesus Christ, a supportive community of participants, and one or more lifestyle medicine principles of behavior change such as healthy eating, movement, quality sleep, social connection, and stress management.

  • 3-12 week programs are held online in the evenings and weekends.

  • Groups meet 1-2 times per week for 60-minutes each session.

  • Participate online or by phone.

  • Private Facebook groups are offered for learning, encouragement, and support.

  • Open to church and community groups.

Peace, Prayer, & Progress

A 12-week program designed to help Christian women over 35 years old overcome shame, doubt, and confusion so they can lose weight and feel better for good.

Change your mindset and implement daily habits for long term success within a supportive and guiding environment for better results and greater peace about your body.

Tools & Techniques You Will Learn…

  1. A renewed mindset to reverse doubt, shame, confusion.
  2. Metabolic lifestyle habits of nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management to battle the unique hormonal issues that make weight loss more challenging due to aging.
  3. Reliable habit changes tools besides motivation.

Based on 3 Pillars:

#1 Relationship With Christ: Your relationship with Christ improves your relationship with yourself translating defeat, shame, and confusion in the weight loss process into confidence, resilience, and ongoing perseverance to stay the course.

#2 Lifestyle Medicine Research: Lifestyle medicine principles of weight loss are not a quick fix. These principles are based on medical research from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Weight loss strategies that have been proven across multiple studies to involve physical activity, whole food nutrition, social connection, stress and resilience, & habit change science.

#3 Group Health Coaching Best Practice: The program is not a one size fits all approach. You are empowered to apply what you feel would be helpful for your unique situation through health coaching principles of unconditional positive regard, accountability support, and moving through challenges support according to the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching.

  • 12 Modules delivered via Zoom, phone, & email
  • Weekly tools & templates so you don’t have to start from scratch (on food, exercise, stress)
  • Private Facebook Group for questions and support
  • Time: Mondays 7-8 pm via Zoom for Weight Loss Content & Plan Creation & Sundays 4 pm via Zoom for Implementation Support (optional)

Fitness Classes

Attention Ladies 18 years & older in the Wilkes County, NC area- Starting March 1st, 2024, fitness classes are held on Sunday nights @ 5:00 and 6:00 pm at Millers Creek Baptist Church. Address: 5100 Boone Trail, Millers Creek, NC 28651.

You do not have to be a member of Millers Creek Baptist Church to participate.

All fitness levels are welcome to move, fellowship, and praise the Lord!

“Hearts of Praise” – a therapeutic exercise class for ladies lasting ~45 minutes who are starting an exercise program and seeking more strength and flexibility for greater independence in everyday activities. All exercise can be done while sitting in a chair. Location: 2nd Sunday School room on the left down the hallway closest to the gym (Rm 176). Time: 5:00 pm.

“You Belong” – a dynamic fitness class for low to moderate fitness levels lasting 1 hour. All exercises are taught at multiple levels of difficulty for each participant to find the level that works for them. Location: in the Gym (top of the hill). Time: 6:00 pm.

Equipment is provided for all participants.

Please obtain physician approval to engage in light exercise prior to participating; wear sneakers & exercise appropriate clothing to be comfortable.

Cost: This is a FREE program and donations are welcome.

Due to select Sunday night services throughout the year, the fitness classes will either be cancelled or moved from Sunday nights to Wednesday nights of that same week according to the schedule below:

Week of March 24: Classes are cancelled.

Week of March 31: Classes are held April 3rd – Hearts of Praise 5:30 pm; You Belong 6:30 pm.

April-

Week of April 7th: Classes are held April 10th – Hearts of Praise 5:30 pm; You Belong 6:30 pm.

Week of April 21st: Classes are held April 24th – Hearts of Praise 5:30 pm; You Belong 6:30 pm.

May-

Week of May 12th and May 19th: Classes are cancelled.

21 Day Moving In Freedom Challenge

A 21 day group health coaching program designed to help women develop an exercise habit that lasts using activities that are enjoyable (or are tolerable) to feel and sleep better.

Implement movement habits with a different mindset within a supportive and guiding environment.

In addition to getting the benefits of regular exercise, participants often use this challenge to obtain a sample of the Peace, Prayer, and Progress Program to learn their level of interest in a 12 week group health coaching program.

Tools & Techniques You Will Learn…

  • A renewed mindset to eliminate confusion and give yourself the benefit of the doubt.
  • Reliable habit changes tools besides motivation.
  • Time management skills that help to find time for an efficient workout.
  • Set realistic goals that come alive based on where you are right now.
  • Modify workouts based on your unique limitations and preferences.

You get:

  1. Access to a board certified health coach to work through unique challenges.
  2. A workbook to guide you with goals, scripture, sample workouts and a workout schedule.
  3. Access to a facebook group for community support.
  4. 3 Group Health Coaching Sessions to work through challenges and develop your unique plan for long term success. These are recorded, but attendance is encouraged for best results.

In addition, best results happen when spending time with the Lord in prayer each morning (~5-10+ minutes) and doing the pre and post session work.

Living Well Seminars / Webinars

  • For female church, community groups, and athletic teams seeking a different approach to better health that motivates and produces lasting results.
  • An interactive and entertaining discussion on wellness subjects such as feeling better, sleeping better, having less stress, optimal body image, weight loss and/or the power of community that can be achieved through a greater reliance on faith in Jesus Christ and lifestyle medicine principles of behavior change.
  • Held online or in person.
  • Evening and weekend seminars are available.
  • Custom seminars are designed based on the desired outcome.
